COCOA FARMERS IN THE IVORY COAST TASTE CHOCOLATE FOR THE FIRST TIME

A team of documentary film-makers travelled to the remote cocoa plantations of Ivory Coast where much of the world’s cocoa is produced and where underpaid farmers work painstakingly long days to harvest it. Believe it or not, those workers responsible for getting the cocoa have never actually had the pleasure of tasting the end-state of all their labour, and so this short film documents that special moment of bliss when the tabs of chocolate are enjoyed for the very first time. The next time you eat chocolate you might just appreciate it a little more. Via
