Snail Drawings by Daniel Ranalli

These simple but striking diptychs by Boston based artist Daniel Ranalli centre on the wayward trails of snails on a beach. Unexpectedly beautiful, the concept is a mix of man-made and organic, with the snails first arranged by Ranalli in a design and then left to move and unravel at will.

The result is a kind of “before and after” series and an ode to the chaotic elegance of nature. You can see the images here and go to Ranalli’s website to see more studies in nature. Via
